First Results: national conservatives and extreme right set to win on Flemish side.

Polling sections have closed at most places and the first -incomplete- results are getting in.

On the Flemish side Vlaams Belang will likely be the biggest surprise of this election. They were rising in the latest polls but they are currently set to become the second biggest party in Flanders. That would mean growing to 18% (+ 12%). N-VA remains the most popular party at around 27% (-5%). All traditional parties lose between 4% to 5% votes in votes: CD&V 13,6% (-5%), Open VLD 11,6% (-4,1%), sp.a 10,1% (-4,1%).

Expectations of the greens growing substantially have thus far not realized, they grow with a mere 1,5% to 10,1%. Other, slight, surprise is that the communists of PVDA will probably break the 5% threshold currently polling around 6,6%.
